NMI Summit 2026 Longevity and Biological Ageing: Enhancing Health into Advanced Age features scientific and clinical advances relevant to optimising health in the context of biological ageing, chronic disease prevention and helping people enjoy healthier lives as they age.

About the event

This conference explores cutting-edge advances in biological ageing assessment and interventions. Personalised nutrition and lifestyle changes can reverse biological ageing and reduce frailty, improve metabolic health, body composition, vascular health, mood, cognition, vitality and flourishing.

Themes include molecular and physiological phenotypes associated with age, measurement of biological age with methylation and epigenetic clocks, physiological biomarkers of functional capacity, organ reserve and health status. Clinical interventions featured include those that modulate biomarkers of biological ageing, support cellular health, delaying ageing processes, reverse disease and optimise health.

Speakers are experts researching and practicing in this area, including leading scientists and clinicians at the forefront of personalised interventions that optimise health and vitality as we age.

Themes include:

  • Healthy ageing and longevity
  • Biological age
  • Cardiometabolic fitness

From Decline to Resilience: Functional Medicine Strategies to Extend Healthspan

In this talk, Dr Laurens Maas explores ageing not as something to be reversed, but as a process we can meaningfully influence. While getting older is inevitable, how we experience those later years, our energy, resilience, and overall health, is shaped by a complex interplay of genetics, biochemistry, hormones, and digestive function.

Through a Functional and Integrated Medicine lens, Laurens brings these systems together, highlighting the central roles of methylation and mitochondrial function in how we age. Rather than focusing only on theory, he translates this science into practical, clinically relevant strategies, showing how targeted nutrition, lifestyle changes, and precision supplementation can help slow decline and support patients in maintaining strength, clarity, and vitality for as long as possible.

Epigenetic Age: From Measurement to Intervention

Epigenetic biological age assessment using DNA methylation clocks has emerged as a novel tool for measuring age-related change beyond chronological time. While the science continues to evolve, validated biological age clocks now offer measurable insight into cellular ageing and health trajectories.

This session will explore the molecular and cellular mechanisms of ageing and various biological age clocks currently utilised in clinical and nutritional practice. We will clarify how biological age differs from chronological age and why this distinction matters in longevity-focused care.

Drawing from real-world clinical data, including findings from a structured dietary and lifestyle program, this presentation will illustrate how epigenetic age measurements can change over time. Case studies will demonstrate measurable shifts in biological age and highlight practical considerations for implementing longevity-focused programs in integrative settings.

Attendees will gain practical insight into interpreting epigenetic biological age results and translating these measurements into meaningful diet, lifestyle and targeted supplement strategies to support healthy ageing.
